Always unplug the washer before beginning any work., Turn off the water supply to avoid leaks or flooding., Use proper lifting techniques or get help to move heavy appliances., Check for leaks after installation to prevent water damage.
Unplug the old washing machine from the electrical outlet to ensure safety. Turn off both hot and cold water supply valves to prevent leaks. Place a bucket under the hoses and use pliers to disconnect them from the back of the washer. Detach the drain hose from the wall or standpipe and let any remaining water drain into the bucket. Carefully slide the old washing machine away from the wall and out of the laundry area. Clean the floor and surrounding area to remove dust, debris, or water residue. Move the new washing machine into position, leaving enough space to access the back. Wrap Teflon tape around the threads of the water inlet valves on the washer. Attach the new water supply hoses to the washer and tighten them with a wrench without over-tightening. Connect the other ends of the hoses to the water supply valves and ensure they are secure. Insert the drain hose into the standpipe or utility sink, securing it with a clamp if needed. Use a level to check the washer is even; adjust the feet as necessary to prevent vibration. Turn on the water supply valves and check for any leaks at the hose connections. Plug the new washing machine into the electrical outlet. Run a short test cycle to ensure the washer fills, drains, and spins correctly. Check around the washer during the test for any signs of leaks or unusual noises. Make final adjustments to the washer’s position if needed for stability. Dispose of the old washing machine according to local appliance recycling guidelines. Store tools and clean up any remaining water or debris from the installation area.
