Wear gloves and eye protection when cutting wood., Use caution when handling power tools like drills and saws., Lift heavy materials with proper posture to avoid injury.
Choose a location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Use a tape measure to mark the desired dimensions of your garden bed on the ground. Cut wood boards to your chosen length using a saw, wearing safety glasses. Drill pilot holes and screw the boards together to form a rectangular frame. Use a shovel to level the ground where the bed will sit, removing grass and debris. Place the wooden frame on the leveled ground and check for evenness with a level. Lay landscape fabric inside the frame to prevent weeds from growing up into the bed. Mix garden soil and compost in a wheelbarrow and pour it into the raised bed. Spread the soil evenly and gently press it down to remove large air pockets. Water the soil thoroughly to help it settle before planting. Plan your layout and dig small holes for each plant or seed according to spacing needs. Place plants or seeds in the holes and cover with soil, gently patting down. Add a layer of mulch on top to retain moisture and reduce weeds. Water the newly planted bed again to help roots establish. Label your plants if needed to keep track of what you planted. Clean up tools and store them safely after use. Check the bed regularly for weeds, pests, and moisture levels. Add compost or fertilizer as needed during the growing season. Harvest your crops when they are ripe and enjoy your garden's bounty. Rotate crops each season to maintain soil health and reduce pests.
