Turn off the water supply to the shower if the door removal may affect plumbing fixtures.
Wear safety glasses and gloves before starting to protect from glass shards and sharp edges.
Unscrew and remove the old shower door panels carefully to avoid breaking the glass.
Remove all old tracks, screws, and anchors from the wall using a screwdriver or drill.
Scrape off any old caulk or adhesive using a utility knife and clean the surface thoroughly.
Measure the shower opening and mark the placement for the new door frame using a tape measure and pencil.
Place the bottom track on the tub or shower base and secure it with tape to hold it in place temporarily.
Install the side rails by aligning them with the bottom track and securing them to the wall with screws and anchors.
Use a level to ensure the side rails are perfectly vertical before tightening the screws fully.
Attach the top rail between the side rails and secure it with screws as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Hang the fixed glass panel first by sliding it into the bottom and top tracks carefully.
Install the sliding glass panel by lifting it into the top rail and setting it into the bottom track.
Adjust the rollers or guides on the sliding panel to ensure smooth operation and proper alignment.
Check that both panels are level and plumb, making adjustments as needed for proper fit.
Tighten all fasteners and set screws to secure the glass panels and frame components.
Apply a continuous bead of silicone caulk along the edges of the frame where it meets the wall and base.
Smooth the caulk with a wet finger or caulk tool to ensure a clean, watertight seal.
Allow the silicone caulk to cure for at least 24 hours before using the shower.
Clean the glass panels and frame with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove fingerprints and debris.
Inspect the installation for any gaps or loose parts and make final adjustments if necessary.
