Screwdriver, Microfiber cloth, Spray bottle, Masking tape, Sandpaper (1000, 2000, 3000 grit), Polishing pad or drill with pad attachment
Ensure the engine is off and headlights are cool before starting., Wear gloves and eye protection when using chemicals or power tools., Work in a well-ventilated area when applying sealants or polish., Avoid sanding painted surfaces; use masking tape for protection.
Park the car on a flat, well-lit surface and turn off the engine. Ensure the headlights are cool to the touch before starting work. Wash the headlights thoroughly with car soap and water to remove dirt. Dry the headlights completely using a clean microfiber cloth. Apply masking tape around the headlights to protect the car’s paint. Spray water on the headlight and sand it using 1000 grit sandpaper in horizontal strokes. Keep the surface wet while sanding to avoid scratching the plastic. Switch to 2000 grit sandpaper and sand in vertical strokes to smooth the surface. Finish with 3000 grit sandpaper using circular motions for a finer finish. Rinse the headlight with clean water and dry it with a microfiber cloth. Apply a small amount of plastic polish to a polishing pad or drill attachment. Buff the headlight in circular motions until the lens becomes clearer. Wipe off any excess polish with a clean microfiber cloth. Apply a UV sealant or clear coat evenly over the headlight surface. Allow the sealant to dry according to the product instructions. Remove the masking tape carefully from around the headlights. Inspect the headlights for clarity and repeat polish if needed. Avoid touching or washing the headlights for 24 hours to let the sealant cure. Dispose of used materials properly and clean your tools. Test the headlights at night to confirm improved brightness.
