Reinsert the cartridge or valve stem into the faucet body, ensuring correct orientation.
Screw the packing nut back on and tighten securely with the wrench, avoiding over-tightening.
Reattach the handle and secure it with the screw.
Turn the main water supply back on slowly and check for leaks around the faucet.
If leaks persist, recheck all connections and replace additional worn parts if needed.
Clean the work area and dispose of old washers and damaged parts properly.
