Step stool, Extension cord, Ladder (if needed)
Use a stable ladder or step stool when reaching high branches., Do not overload electrical outlets with too many light strands., Keep the tree away from heat sources like fireplaces or heaters., Turn off lights when unattended to prevent fire risk., Keep breakable ornaments out of reach of children and pets.
Choose a stable location away from heat sources and set up the tree base securely. Assemble the tree if artificial, or place the real tree in a stand with water. Fluff and spread out the branches to create a full, even look. Plug in and test all string lights to ensure they work before placing them on the tree. Start at the bottom and wrap the lights around the tree, working upward in a spiral. Distribute garland or ribbon evenly around the tree, tucking it slightly into branches. Hang larger ornaments first, spacing them out to balance the tree visually. Add medium and small ornaments to fill in gaps and add depth. Use hooks or hangers to secure ornaments firmly to the branches. Place the tree topper carefully, using a step stool or ladder if needed. Drape the tree skirt around the base to hide the stand and complete the look. Step back and adjust decorations for symmetry and spacing. Ensure all lights are evenly distributed and not tangled or bunched. Secure any loose or heavy ornaments to prevent them from falling. Tidy up any cords and plug the lights into a safe, grounded outlet. Use an extension cord with a switch or timer for convenience and safety. Keep breakable ornaments out of reach of pets or small children. Avoid overloading electrical outlets to prevent fire hazards. Turn off the lights when leaving the house or going to bed. Enjoy your decorated Christmas tree and the festive atmosphere it brings.
