            Clear all items from the countertop and surrounding area to create a safe workspace. Turn off the water supply valves under the sink and disconnect plumbing fixtures. Remove the sink and any appliances that are mounted into the countertop. Use a screwdriver or drill to remove screws securing the old countertop to the base cabinets. Carefully lift and remove the old linoleum countertop, using a utility knife to cut any caulked edges. Inspect the cabinet tops for damage or debris and clean the surfaces thoroughly. Measure the dimensions of the cabinet layout and mark cuts on the new countertop material. Use a jigsaw to cut the new countertop to size, including sink and appliance openings if needed. Dry fit the new countertop on the cabinets to ensure proper alignment and fit. Apply construction adhesive evenly along the top edges of the base cabinets. Carefully place the new countertop onto the cabinets and press down firmly. Clamp the countertop in place if needed and allow adhesive to set per manufacturer instructions. From inside the cabinets, drive wood screws up into the countertop to secure it. Reinstall the sink and reconnect all plumbing, ensuring watertight seals. Reconnect any appliances and test for proper function and fit. Apply painter’s tape along the edges where the countertop meets the wall or backsplash. Run a bead of silicone caulk along the seams and smooth it with a damp finger or tool. Remove painter’s tape before the caulk dries to ensure clean lines. Wipe down the countertop surface and clean up any debris or adhesive residue. Allow all adhesives and caulk to cure fully before using the countertop.
