Socket wrench, Oil filter wrench, Car jack, Jack stands, Oil drain pan, Funnel, Gloves, Rags
Always use jack stands when working under a lifted vehicle., Allow the engine to cool before starting to avoid burns., Wear gloves and eye protection when handling oil., Dispose of used oil and filters at a proper recycling facility.
Park the car on a flat, level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake to prevent the car from moving. Allow the engine to cool for at least 30 minutes to avoid burns. Lift the front of the car using a jack and secure it with jack stands on both sides. Wear gloves and safety glasses before working under the vehicle. Place an oil drain pan under the oil pan drain bolt. Use a socket wrench to remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Inspect the drain plug and replace the crush washer if necessary. After oil has drained, reinstall the drain plug and tighten securely. Move the drain pan under the oil filter and use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter. Apply a thin layer of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. Install the new oil filter by hand until snug, then tighten slightly more. Double-check that the drain plug and oil filter are both secure. Lower the car carefully back to the ground using the jack. Remove the oil cap on top of the engine and insert a funnel. Pour in the recommended amount and type of new engine oil. Replace the oil cap and start the engine, letting it run for a minute. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes, then check the oil level with the dipstick. Add more oil if needed to reach the proper level on the dipstick. Check under the car for any signs of oil leaks and clean up any spills.
Engine oil (per manufacturer spec), Oil filter (compatible with 2006 Toyota Camry), Crush washer (if required)
            Medium
Warm up the engine for a few minutes before draining to help oil flow out faster., Keep a rag nearby to quickly clean up any spills., Label the date and mileage of your oil change for future reference., Use a funnel to avoid spilling oil when refilling.
