Adjustable wrench, Pliers, Teflon tape, Rag or cloth
Use a cloth to protect finishes when using tools., Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the shower arm., Ensure water is off before starting to prevent accidental spraying.
Turn off the shower and ensure no water is running. Use an adjustable wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the old showerhead by turning it counterclockwise. Place a rag over the shower arm to protect the finish while using tools. Clean any old Teflon tape or debris from the shower arm threads using a cloth. Wrap new Teflon tape clockwise around the shower arm threads 2–3 times to ensure a watertight seal. Align the new showerhead with the shower arm and hand-tighten it clockwise. Use a wrench to gently tighten the showerhead further, being careful not to overtighten. Turn on the water to check for leaks around the connection. If leaks are present, turn off the water and tighten the showerhead slightly more. Wipe down the showerhead and arm to remove any fingerprints or residue. Test the spray settings on the new showerhead if it has adjustable modes. Ensure the showerhead is securely attached and does not wobble. Check water pressure and flow to confirm proper installation. If using pliers, always use a cloth to prevent scratching the finish. Dispose of the old showerhead properly or recycle if possible. Store tools and leftover materials for future use. Clean up the work area and remove any debris or packaging. Inform household members that the new showerhead is installed and ready for use.
